DESCRIPTION:Every year Badarikashrama hosts a Thanksgiving Concert with renowned artists followed by a delicious Int’l Vegetarian Dinner. The free program attacts hundreds of poeple\, from different faiths and backgrounds\, the diverse fabric of our society. The spiritual energy and family friend atmosphere makes Badarikashrama an ideal place to celebrate Thanksgiving.\nThis years special guest artist is Smt. Shubhangi Sakhalkar who will be accompanied by Bay Area’s top artists\, Sri Vivek Datar on Harmonium and Sri Shripod Tovi on Tabla.\nShubhangi ji started learning Hindustani vocals at the age of 14 in Mumbai\, India. She received her musical training from Smt. Kunda Vaishampayan\, Dr. Prabha Atre and Smt. Padma Talwalkar. She also received her master’s degree in music from SNDT university in Mumbai where she ranked first in her class.  Having studied and performed Hindustani music for over 30 years\, Shubhangi says\, “It makes me a whole person\, gives me peace and satisfaction. Hindustani classical music is very spiritual and calming. Practicing this ancient art form is like worshipping God to me”
