DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of Indian Classical music! \nUpcoming artists Amit Gud & Nitish Limaye will be presenting select soulful melodies on Sarod and Tabla. \nPresented ONLY at 2929 24th Street\, not online! \nThis concert is open to all at no cost. We are supported by your generosity (dana). Donations are accepted and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. \nAmit got initiated to music at an early age with Tabla. He learned from various gurus in Pune and most recently with Arshad Syed ji (disciple of Ustd Alla Rakha) in California. He also has a background in nylon string western classical guitar and took formal lessons from Charles Fergusson at Stanford University. Amit has also been composing his own music and has released a few singles available on iTunes and Spotify. \nEnamored by the tone and versatility of the instrument\, Amit started learning Sarod. He has been learning Sarod from Shri Bruce Hamm (disciple of Ustd Ali Akbar Khan) and Shri Abhisek Lahiri (disciple of Shri Alok Lahiri). \nNitish is an upcoming Tabla player in the bay area. He has learnt for the past 12 years from Shri Rashmin Bhagwat and from Shri Abhinay Padhye for about 6 years.
